Privacy policy

Effective date: November 5, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how We The Vote ("We The Vote," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the We The Vote website, mobile app, and the Vote Map (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect. Account information (email address and sign-in provider identifiers from Google or Apple); information you voluntarily submit, including Community Reports, ZIP code, county, and state; technical data such as device type, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and usage logs; and communications you send us.

2. Sensitive information. Political opinions and voting selections may be considered sensitive data under some laws. By submitting a Community Report you expressly consent to our processing of that information for the purposes described here. Submission is entirely optional.

3. How we use information. To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services; to produce aggregated, de-identified statistics; to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate, or automated submissions; to communicate with you; to comply with law and legal process; and to enforce our Terms and protect our rights.

4. Public display. Community Reports are displayed only in aggregate. Areas with too few submissions are suppressed. Aggregated or de-identified data may be published, licensed, or shared without restriction.

5. Sharing. We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that host or operate the Services under confidentiality obligations; when required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of We The Vote, its users, or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

6. Retention and deletion. We keep information as long as your account is active or as needed for the purposes above, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and submissions at any time; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period.

7. Security. We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not responsible for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.

8. Your rights. Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Email bsdryan.miller@gmail.com to exercise these rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

9. Children. The Services are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

10. United States only. The Services are operated from and intended for users in the United States. If you access them from elsewhere, you consent to processing in the United States.

11. Changes. We may update this Policy at any time. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after posting means you accept the changes.
